Crafty Li’l Miss

This year I “formally” started homeschooling Jianne. By formally I mean, enrolling her under The Master’s Academy Homeschool (TMA) together with Coby.

I discovered at the beginning of our school year that Jianne also has a knack for the arts. I thought that the artist in the family is Coby because of his love for drawing but Jianne showed the same gifting too.  As Coby does his usual “art” stuff, I was unaware that Jianne was following her older brother’s footsteps.

I would see her reaching for her own sketch pad and pencil and draw her own stick figures while looking at what Coby is doing. Sometimes Coby would complain because he says Jianne is copying his work. I would just tell him that if someone is copying your work it means you’re doing a great job.

Aside from drawing and making her own mini-books, she would also do some crafts even without my help. Before we start  school in the morning, she would be pleading me to let her to do arts and crafts first before school. Sometimes I would give in to her requests and let her do some pasting and cutting.  She, like her kuya, would look for things around that could be recycled into something else. I would say that Coby influence her greatly not only in the artsy stuffy but also in recycling trash or old stuff.

I hope that when she grows up her love for the arts would still be there. Whether it be in visual arts, music or dance we will encourage and support her so long as it glorifying to her Maker who blessed her with amazing gifts!

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” James 1:17 (NASB)

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)
